This is about my hair – but it takes awhile to get there. Remember almost exactly 2 years ago when I started working out in the morning? That worked out really well for me while I had a goal and a plan – the goal was to lose weight before going to Vegas right before Thanksgiving and the plan was the 30 Day Shred. And I stuck to it till we got back from Vegas. Then things got busy with work and the holidays and I just couldn’t manage to drag my butt out of bed to listen to Jillian’s increasingly annoying voice every morning. Even after I figured out how to turn off her voice on the DVD, I still wanted to punch her and somehow that just didn’t motivate me to get out of bed.

So, I went back to sporadically running after work for about a year, till I joined a gym last January. I worked out pretty regularly at the gym before we went on the cruise and then just fell off again as things got busy this summer.

And then I had my epiphany. Working out after work is incredibly hard for me because there are so many other things I would rather be doing. It makes exercise a chore, when I actually really do like working out. So, I need to be working out in the morning when the only other thing I would rather be doing is sleeping – but not working at home where it is easy to stop– at the gym! Yup, I am now one of those early morning gym people. And, since I originally chose my gym because it was close to work, I’m also one of those shower at the gym people. I just finished my 3rd week of early morning workouts and really hope I can keep this up. I’m doing Couch to 5k because I need to have a plan – in a few more weeks I’ll need a new plan, but I’m sure I’ll come up with something 😉

And now about my hair – it is getting long, and I’ve just been putting it in a pony tail every morning to avoid having to do anything to it, all the while thinking about how long hair is such a pain and I needed to get it cut. But I’ve built enough time into my getting ready at the gym routine to actually dry my hair nicely every morning. And it looks so nice and shiny and pretty! And it makes me want to keep growing it out…maybe? It really isn’t even that long right now – just touching my shoulders. And when I think about it, that is probably as long as I can have it and not need to put it up at work. And if I have to put it up for work, then it will stay like that all day. And then I’ll probably just throw it in a pony tail on the weekends. So, then what’s the point of having long hair? And now we are back to I should just get it cut…
